Motivation or Lack there of.. (Quarantine)

How to get motivated?

I am not going to get into the topic of the world right now and what is going on around April 2020..Yet, as we know it we have been instructed to stay at home and social distance ourselves, limit our interaction activities and so-forth ... WOW,This is crazy for us all, so lets try and create a space in our minds for mindfulness and setting those positive intentions. Do not allow yourself to loose motivation to take care of your own body, mind and soul!

MOTIVATION. Where do your everyday fitness guru, activity seeking and energetic friends get their motivation, and is motivation really 'available' all the time?

First I would like to shed light on some differences between Motivation and Willpower? So some people would say will power is not eating the full box of cookies that are 'Oh so good' meaning Willpower is more the ability to resist short-term temptations in order to meet long-term goals.Motivation is more the desire and willingness to do or accomplish something. Both willpower and motivation are important when setting goals and positive intentions for yourself. So I invite you to become more aware of where you use your "Willpower Energy" (Read the Research on Motivation below)

"According to " Sujan Patel" with The Science Behind Motivation"

One of the most interesting discoveries of the last few years has been the realization that willpower is a finite resource. That is, you only get a certain amount of willpower on any given day, and once you’ve exhausted that supply, you’ll find yourself feeling much less able to do the right things and act on the motivation that you may feel.Essentially, the more decisions we make, the more likely we are to become fatigued by these choices. As time goes on, our willpower diminishes and our ability to follow through on our motivations declines.

This being said, recognize what you fill your brain with when you start your day. Try and "Wake up on the right side of the Bed" , start your day without flipping open your phone, notice your breath and try and internally set your Intentions for your day.

Channel your internal "Tank of Willpower", try and 'keep the ball rolling' in the positive direction and become aware.. When it comes time to tackle your Intentions it is important to have the available willpower to stay motivated to reach for your BEST SELF.

On another note, I would like to say IT IS OKAY to sometimes not have willpower to workout, go for a fun, go through the mail etc. YET, it is NOT okay to say you lack motivation; because that puts negativity into your brain and leads you to distractions that will steer you from your goals... This being said, it is okay to have a lazy day, a relaxing day, reset your "willpower tank" kind of day; thus giving you more strength to be motivated the next day to reach your goals (positive intentions) !! So during these next few weeks I challenge you to start your day with a positive action... weather that be a morning yoga routine, reading a pleasant book, bond with your pets, enjoy your coffee outdoors , writing out your daily goals etc. SAVE YOUR WILLPOWER for what is more important to you and recognize that it is okay if your goals are not met every single day, understand that you have the MOTIVATION sometimes we just need to know how to use it.

I hope this helps; now go crush those goals!
